What is a guarantor?
A guarantor is someone who signs the lease with you and takes on your financial obligations under the lease. He or she doesn't actually become a tenant or occupant live in the apartment with you, but chooses to become bound to the lease. This means that if you don't pay the rent on time, the landlord can come after the guarantor for the money.
Guarantors must provide photocopies of the following:
- Photographic Identification
- Proof of employment stating income is more that £18K a year
- Proof of Address, e.g. a utility bill, mortgage statement
